What We Need To Know About Detoxification!!!

Do you know what is detoxification and why it is important?

First, lets understand what toxins are and how they affect the human body.

Toxins are poisonous substance that causes harmful effect to our body. It can manifest as physical symptoms that can promote diseases because of the stress it puts on the body and our emotional state.

We are all exposed to toxins by internal and external factors. Internally, we harbor toxins that are produce by our body’s normal metabolic processes, as well as the toxins that are produced by the bacteria and other flora in the intestines. Externally, we are exposed to toxins in our natural environment. These external toxins can be found just about anywhere. Toxins are in our water supply (chlorine, fluoride), foods, air, plants, in pesticides/ herbicides, radiation, altitude, the weather, airports, new cars, gas stations, hair/nail salons, industrial and agricultural chemicals just to name a few.

There are also lifestyle habits that has hidden source of toxins. Some of these habits are taking prescription drugs, smoking cigarettes, exposure to second hand smoking, using aluminum cookware, sedentary, sugar, alcohol, highly process foods, illegal drugs, the beautification process, not getting proper sleep and exercise that aid in relieving stress and elimination of harmful toxins.

With all these toxins coming from all angles and becoming excess in the body, our liver which is the key organ that is responsible for the detoxification process can get overwhelmed and result in a person feeling ill. Some of these symptoms can manifest as allergies, insomnia, chronic fatigue and depression.

To remedy these ill feelings detoxification, which is an alternative approach can be used. Detoxification is the process of diminishing or removing the toxic quality and quantity of compounds in the body that can interfere with biological processes.

There are many ways we can minimize our exposure to toxins, some of the general strategies include ventilation and using natural cleaning product in our homes, get your tap water tested, avoid using lawn care chemicals, use natural brands of toiletries, avoid using chemical pest control, do not where shoes in your house, reduce consumption of meats and diary products, avoid heavy metals, keep filters clean, buy fresh organic produce, avoid using products with high volatile organic compounds and stay away from smoke and smokers.

There are a lot of toxins that we are exposed to that we are not aware of. One of the things that we have to master in this life is knowing who we are and that comes with being fully aware of our body and its functions. Proper information can take us a long way in maintaining health and this is something we all should pursue.
